How we met!
We were already partners from the first day of study. Well, project partners. You have to start somewhere 😉

As designers, we love to experiment and build prototypes. That’s also how we started dating. We experimented with dating for 1 month. From best friends to dating was the most courageous thing we did together.

The proposal
After visiting India with Shanna for the first time, Ayush knew that Shanna was a keeper.
Ayush knew that Shanna wanted to go camping for a very long time. So there they were, at Lake Lausanne with nature celebrating their 3 years together.
The beautiful sun was setting and someone started playing the guitar. And so it happened that, on Oct 8th 2022, Ayush asked Shanna if she would like to get engaged. And she said yes…

What should I wear?
Indian and Western are both fine! Why not try hybrid? Just like our wedding :)
Dress in light colors. The theme is pastels: green, light blue, lavender, pink, coral, light yellow or beige. No black, white, grey or red (The bride will wear red).
Where can I stay the night?
Sint Agatha is near Nijmegen. You can book a stay somewhere in Nijmegen. Check out Airbnb or booking.com.
What to expect at an Indian wedding?
If you haven't been invited to an Indian wedding, you're in for a unique and vibrant experience! One key ceremony you'll witness is the Fire Ritual, or Agni Puja.
Here's what to expect:
The couple stands under a Mandir. Usually a stage with a tent made of colourful fabric. The bride wears a Sari or Lehenga.
A sacred fire is lit by the priest, acting as a divine witness and sanctifying the marriage.
Watch as the couple walks around the fire seven times, each round signifying a wedding vow.
So, get ready to enjoy this rich, meaningful, and beautiful tradition!

The presence of you all is already a gift! If you wish to give us something as well, we prefer a contribution for our honeymoon. Do you have another amazing gift in mind? We are very happy with that too!

The Reception in India will be at the end of February 2025. You are also invited there.
